Bolesworth Castle, United Kingdom – August 20, 2023 – The last day of competition at the 2023 Al Shira’aa Bolesworth Young Horse Championships came to an end last Sunday at Bolesworth Castle. Besides the classes for young horses, the event was highlighted by CSI 2* competition too, especially with the running of the €25,300 Grand Prix CSI 2*, sponsored by eVet. Honoring his name, Flying Tinker II propelled Mark Edwards (GBR) to first place in the feature class of the week there.

Run under two-round format, fifteen combinations took part in the grand finale but it was Edwards and the 12-year-old bay stallion who prevailed, securing the win for the host nation backed by a second flawless performance in 39.13 seconds.

Jennifer Billington (GBR) and Flipper Darco Uk Z (Flipper D’Elle*Hn* x Darco) were the only other duo to register two clean rounds, completing the final course in 40.50 seconds for silver honors.

Billy Twomey (IRL) had an unlucky time penalty in the first round with Diego del Caribe (Kannan x Quidam de Revel). However, the renowned rider and the 2013 Selle Français stallion were impecable in the second round, rounding out the top three as the only ones with a final score of 1 penalty-point.
