Dinard, France – July 29, 2023 – The Jumping International de Dinard CSI 5* & CSI 3* continued with 6 classes on Saturday, two on sand and four on grass. Once again, the suspense was maintained right up to the last starter, much to the delight of the public.
Thirty-seven of the stars who had made it for this 2023 edition, were at the start of the €26,200 L’Eperon – Charles de Cazanove Prize CSI 5*, judged against the clock over 1.50m obstacles. This final course before Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix CSI 5* was more an opportunity to make final adjustments than a desperate attempt to lower the time. Among the twelve clear rounds, victory went to Ireland’s Conor Swail (IRL), already winner of the 5* event two days before, with the same mount, Theo 160, an 11-year-old Holsteiner (Christian 25, x Calando IV), who clocked nearly two seconds faster than his compatriot Shane Sweetnam (IRL), riding Out of the Blue SCF, while Belgium’s Gilles Thomas (BEL) placed Feromas Van Beek Z third.
