
Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA – July 20, 2023 – Samuel Parot (CHI) won his second Tryon $39,000 ProElite Welcome Stake CSI 2* in a row aboard his own Chrystal Blue (Chacco Blue x Calvaro F.C.) with a time of 27.96 seconds in the jump off. Roberto Taran Tafur (COL) and his 2012 German Sporthorse mare DSP Callas (Casskeni II x Levistano) earned reserve honors with a jump off time of 29.79 seconds. Rounding out the podium with a time of 30.4 seconds was Liliane Stransky’s 2014 Irish Sport Horse gelding Classified (Je T’aime Flamenco x Unknown) and rider Gonzala Busca Roca (ESP).
Parot has had a very successful 2023 Summer Series at Tryon International aboard a variety of horses, but his partner Chrystal Blue has helped him with these wins. “All the horses I have now are new, but I bought him here a year ago and he is fantastic and really fast.” Parot shared of the 2011 Oldenburg gelding.
Parot gave his streak of wins to luck, saying, “I’ll tell you I’ve gotten lucky because this season as been fantastic because the other competitors ride really well,” he detailed. Of 32 entries, with thirteen riders made it to the jump off round.

Chrystal Blue and Samuel Parot will be riding in the $146,000 Grand Prix CSI3* the last event of the Tryon Summer Series Saturday, as well. Parot shared, “I hope it goes well. You never know with the horses, but I always try!”

Parot and his team have been showing at Tryon International every summer for six years. “For me this is the best show because the facility is perfect, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the people are nice!”
