A Coruña, Spain – July 16, 2023 – Showjumping has its power couples and while one of their spouses competes, the other cheers on in the sidelines. That was exactly the case last Sunday at the at the Casas Novas Equestrian Center as the two wives of highly-acclaimed riders battle for the win in the feature CSI 3* class there. In the end, Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli (SWE) and Kendrick cruised to first place in the €55,000 Prosegur Trophy CSI 3* on the final day Longines Global Champions Tour of A Coruña CSI 5* & CSI 3*.
Riding the 9-year-old bay Oldenburg gelding (Kannan x Quattro) against four other combinations in the tiebreaker, out of a total of 33 who took part in the 1.45m contest, the Swede was supreme by delivering her second clean performance, crossing the finish line in 37.17 seconds.
Sophie Maher (USA) and Sentimiento LS La Silla (Casall x Santo Domingo) were the closest ones, finishing second in 40.60 seconds while the host nation was represented on the podium by Antonio Mariñas Soto (ESP), who guided Expresso Minotiere (Tsunami de Hus x Cellebrio) towards bronze honors in 41.91 seconds.
