Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta, Canada โ July 07, 2023 โ The $40,000 ATCO Cup CSI 2* (1.45m) was the final qualifying competition for Sundayโs Lafarge Grand Prix CSI 2*. Forty-eight entries challenge FEI Course Designer Santiago Varelaโs (ESP) 550m track that featured 13 obstacles (16 jumping efforts). A time allowed of 83 seconds would only be met if horses and riders traveled at 400m per minute.

Ten of horses were piloted successfully in round one and passed all the tests qualifying for the jump off. Conor Swail (IRL) has been on a roll this summer, and aboard his 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Gamble (Vingino x Indoctro), he galloped through the finish line clear, in a time of 37.27 seconds for the win.
Santiago Lambre (BRA) and J’Adore van het Klinkhof had another podium finish, securing silver honors in 38.51 seconds during the tiebreaker.
Shauna Cook (CAN) and Caya conquered bronze honors, doing so backed by their second penalty-free performance in the 1.45m contest, being timed in 39.91 seconds in the decisive round.
