Daniel Coyle & Legacy Light Up to Win Big at Rotterdam

Rotterdam, The Netherlands – June 23, 2023 – Daniel Coyle (IRL) and Legacy lit up to win the €27,650 ECT Prize CSIO 5* on Friday at the 2023 edition of the CHIO Rotterdam. The Irish rider Coyle seems to feel like a fish in water in the Kralingse Bos. With Oak Grove’s Carlyle he had already won the Grand Prix of Rotterdam CSIO 5* on the closing Sunday last year.

On Friday, he claimed the win in the 1.50m contest with the 13-year-old Zangersheide mare (Chippendale Z x Bon Ami), riding on the cutting edge, being timed in 61.67 seconds.

He was just ahead of Julien Gonin (FRA) while Dutchman Eric ten Cate was third. The Frenchman and Caprice de Guinfard (Mylord Carthago*HN x Socrate de Chivre) also rode with courage and set a fast time of 62.70 seconds, but that turned out to be just not fast enough to win the challenge cup.

Eric ten Cate (NED) was the best Dutchman and completed the podium. With Horsedeals Notre-Dame van’t Roosakker (Echo van T Spieveld x Kashmir van Schuttershof), he rode to third place in 63.60 seconds.
