
Mill Spring, North Carolina, USA — May 31, 2023 — Jad Dana (LBN) and Fleur-De-Lis’ Cherie got off to a great start this week at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) & Resort, claiming the win over twenty-five competitors in Wednesday’s $39,000 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 3*.
In the Ivan Tagle (ARG)-designed course, 21 horse and rider pairs successfully conquered the power phase to move onto the speed phase, and 15 of those pairs then achieved double-clear rounds. The Lebanese rider and the 2012 mare (Clarimo x Lancer II) owned by The Cherie Group were the best ones stopping the speed phase timers at 28.30 seconds.
Richard Neal (US) and his own Catemaco LS (Carusso LS La Silla x Carthago Z), the 2011 gelding, took second in the class with a time of 29.45 seconds.
Luiz Francisco de Azevedo (BRA), partnered with Collin (Colandro x Amethist), the 2007 Dutch Warmblood gelding, rounded out the top three with a time of 29.60 seconds.
