Koen Vereecke Victorious in ENI Speed Challenge CSIO 5* at Piazza di Siena

Rome, Italy – May 26, 2023 – The second day of the 90th CSIO di Roma Piazza di Siena – Master d’Inzeo began at the Galoppatoio with €11,400 Safe Riding Accumulator CSIO 5* – 1. .45m. Fourth class in this 2023 edition, and fourth winning nation: after BrazilFrance and Great Britain, it was Belgium turn with Koen Veerecke (BEL), who aboard Lector vd Bisschop was clear and fast (46.20) among the 17 competitors out of 33 who grabbed the highest score (65).

Second place was claimed Brazilian Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) with Cornest (47.63), third to Swiss Bryan Balsiger (SUI) with Just Special VK (47.95). Riccardo Pisani, fourth with Otto de Kalvarie (49.24), was the best of the Italians.

Already on the podium on the first day with Lector vd Bisschop, placing third in the first class, the 53-year-old Veerecke extends the series of victorious debutants at their first participation in Piazza di Siena, after Brazilian Pedro Veniss (BRA), Frenchman Julien Epaillard (FRA) and British Jodie Hall McAteer (GBR). However, it must be said that Veerecke with Jerome Guery found a place among the Belgian participants in Rome after Zoe Conter and Gregory Wathelet withdrew.
