Jos Verlooy Earns First Victory after Return from Injury

Bourg-en-Bresse, France – May 18, 2023 – Jos Verlooy (BEL) was forced to take a break earlier this year due to a fall while competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) and the Beglian had been knocking on the door ever since returning about two months ago. On Saturday, the Belgian was back on the podium again, this time in €28,000 Grand Bourg Agglomération CSI 4* with FTS Killossery Konfusion.

The Belgian and the 2010 grey Irish Sport Horse gelding (SIEC Livello x Cruising) had been one of the sixteen combinations who completed the first round of the 1.50m contest with no penalties, thus qualifying for the jump-off. In the tiebreaker, the dynamic duo blazed through the course in flawless fashion once again, securing the win in 35.33 seconds.

Mark McAuley (IRL) & Jasco vd Bisschop

Mark McAuley (IRL) and Jasco vd Bisschop (Dulf van den Bisschop x Krunch de Breve) were just over six-tenths of a second slower, matching the clean scorecard of the winners with a final time of 35.97 seconds for silver honors.

French fans were not totally disappointed since Megane Moissonnier (FRA) and Bracadabra worked their magic for the third spot on the podium, registering no penalties in 36.18 seconds during the tiebreaker.
