Peelbergen, Kronenberg, The Netherlands – May 18, 2023 – Last time out the Dutch anthem rang out around Mannheim but will the team in orange be able to repeat their success on home turf this week? The series moves on to its third regional qualifier, a short trip over the border to the Netherlands.
Top-class centre Peelbergen will be the hosts, having previously held the 2021 semi-finals. The event is the solo region west qualifier which means automatic progression to the semi-finals for the top 5 eligible nations. Competing for a place will be Belgium, Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland and Portugal. They are competing alongside Sweden, Norway, Argentina, Germany and the Netherlands in what is sure to be an exciting afternoon of sport.
Peelbergen is nestled in the heart of Limburg and well known to many of the sports top riders who have based themselves in the region. A regular host of 1* and 2* international shows, the centre has become a key player in development with a range of opportunities to bring on young horses. Their philosophy echo’s that of the Longines EEF Series, to provide a platform for horses, riders and whole nations to develop and build the depth of talent in our sport. During the week a CSI1* and CSIYH will take place which managing director Ken Ruysen notes as “an ideal setting to give CSIO riders the opportunity to develop their younger horses in the CSIYH and CSI1*, as well as giving CSI riders the chance to compete in a CSIO setting with the very best riders in the sport.”
The Longines EEF Series will take place on Friday 19th, 13.30 CEST. Watch all the action live with Clipmyhorse.tv and follow the results on Longines Timing.
