Grimaud, France – April 16, 2023 – Showjumping has it heroes and and Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) and Chalou are definitely among them for more than one reason. Besides having competed together at the highest level of the sport with several wins, it is Chalou’s exquisite “Superman” jumping technique that leaves spectators in awe every single time they take to the skies. On Sunday, it was no different at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud CSI 3* & CSI 2* as the duo flew to victory in the €61,200 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 3*.

Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) & Chalou

Just as many times before, the Italian and the 2009 chestnut Oldenburg gelding (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) put on their high-flying spectacular act while still leaving all the poles up in the first round, joining 10 other combinations in the tiebreaker. In the end, the dynamic duo delivered another foot-perfect round, claiming the win in 36.85 seconds.

As in any action movie, there are villains too and depending on the point of view, the winners of this thrilling class might fit the adjectiv, especially by the French crowd present, seeing them spoil a victory by the host nation. Kevin Staut (FRA) and Dialou Blue (Diarado’s Boy x Chacco-Blue) came close, matching the clean scorecard but falling short due to their final time of 38.14 seconds.

The third spot on the podium was conquered by Bruno Garez (FRA) & United Sunheup (Balougran x Brett Saint Clair), doing so in flawless fashion while crossing the jump-off timers in 38.65 seconds.
