Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain – April 07, 2023 – British riders were at their best once again on Saturday at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour CSI 2*, climbing onto the highest steps of the podium in the €26,200 Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort Trophy CSI 2*.

After securing the top two spots in the €26,200 CHG Speed Challenge CSI 2* the day before, Great Britain repeated the feat as Joseph Clayton (GBR) and Baloubelle bested seven other combinations in the tiebreaker out of the original participants in the first round of the 1.45m contest. Clayton and the 2011 chestnut Italian Sport Horse mare (Balou du Rouet x Corland) were the only pair to complete the course in less than 38 seconds mark while still leaving all the poles up for no penalties, securing the win in 37.60 seconds.

Anna Power (GBR) and McQueen did try to claim the crown away from the eventual winners, matching their clean scorecard after two performances but having to settle for second place due to their final time of 38.07 seconds.

Nadja Peter Steiner (SUI) and Hush Hush (Cobra x Caretano Z) also left all the poles up for no penalties, rounding out the top three in 38.16 seconds.
