Paris, France – March 19, 2023 – The second day of competition in the Saut Hermès at the Grand Palais Éphémère concluded this evening with the €62,000 Prix du 24 Faubourg CSI 5*. Thirty-one horse and rider combinations took part in this accumulator class with progressive difficulties. Comprising of ten fences in all, the course ended with a joker: a narrow white upright set at 1m65, where twenty approaches could be won or lost in the event of a fault.

The second rider to enter the ring, Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) set the pace. Riding Ballerine du Vilpion (Baloubet du Rouet x Quidam de Revel), the French Olympic champion in Rio de Janeiro crossed the finish line in 43.06 seconds.

Seemingly assured of victory, he had not reckoned on number 26, Olivier Perreau (FRA), reducing the time down by more than a second. The rider in the colours of GL events was paired with GL Events Dolce Deceuninck, a 14-year-old mare (Toulon x Cartier van de Heffinck).

Roger-Yves Bost (FRA), nicknamed Bosty, secured 2nd place. The French riders finished ahead of the current World No.1, Henrik Von Eckermann (SWE), who had claimed victory in the Prix GL events earlier on Saturday. The Olympic and reigning world champion was paired with Dzara Dorchival (Qlassic Bois Margot x Raphael), registering 65 points and the time of 43.65 seconds.
Thrilled by this achievement, the joy written across the face of the rider ranked 88th in the world was plain for all to see as he pointed heavenwards.

“I looked at the start of the round and I saw the speed that was required, explains Olivier Perreau. I saw that you had to be quick, and you had to go for it. I love going for it! Dolce is exceptional. She’s a fast mare and she’s just incredible at 1m45 / 1m50. Everything linked together nicely and I’m ecstatic. It’s been a successful weekend for me, which will end here tonight as I’m not jumping in tomorrow’s Grand Prix Hermès. I leave the venue very happy with both my mares.”
