Denis Lynch & Cornets Iberio Light Up for Victory at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Doha CSI 5*

Doha, Qatar – March 02, 2023 – The Irish flag was flying higher than the rest on Thursday on the opening day of the 2023 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) at the modern Al Shaqab. Denis Lynch (IRL) and Cornets Iberio were responsible for the feat, lighting up for victory in the first five-star class of the event, a Two-Phase Challenge CSI 5*.

Aboard the 11-year-old grey Hanoverian stallion (Cornet Obolensky x Charlottenhof’s Iberio), Denis dashed through the second section of the 1.45m challenge in flawless fashion while managing to be a full two seconds faster than the closest competitor, registering a time of 25.43 seconds for the win.

Second place was claimed by Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Calizi (Cellestial x Stakkatol) in 27.43 seconds while bronze honors was conquered by Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS) and Toulini Olympic (Toulouse x San Patrignano Cassini), doing so in 30.28 seconds.
