Jur Vrieling & Griffin van de Heffinck Strike Gold at Riesenbeck

Riesenbeck, Germany – February 09, 2023 – A Dutch victory on German soil! Jur Vrieling (NED) and Griffin van de Heffinck blazed past a strong field of mostly German riders of international level and their top horses to win the €26,450 Big Tour Speed Challenge CSI 2* last Thursday at the Riesenbeck International.

A total of 52 combinations entered the ring for the 1.45m speed contest but it was Vrieling who was victorious in the end. Riding the 11-year-old grey Belgian Sport Horse mare (Castelino van de Helle x Contact van de Heffinck), the Dutchman blazed past all other competitors, not only leaving all the poles up but also being almost 1.5 seconds (62.83s) than his closest rival.

Felix Haßmann (GER) and GSI Pit Perigueux ( Perigueux x Epsom Gesmeray) gave the host nation something to cheer about as they finished second in 64.48 seconds.

Marcus Westergren (SWE) and Dragada des Grevis (Cardento 933 x Heartbreaker) completed the podium after a penalty-free performance in 64.67 seconds.
