Johnny Pals Powers to Victory at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour CSI 2*

Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain – January 13, 2023 – Johnny Pals (NED) and Beau van de Hagenhorst Z won Friday’s Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 2* for the CHG – Construcciones Hispano Germanas S.A. Trophy. The Dutchman was supreme against 65 other combinations in the challenge against the clock, daring the 2012 grey Zangersheide mare (Big Star Jr KZ x Coronado 3) to go fast while still managing to complete the course without having any penalties attributed to their score, securing first place in 67.68 seconds.

Omer Karaevli (TUR) and Hailey (London x Balou du Rouet) were the closest ones, matching the clean performance of the winning duo while crossing the timers in 68.15 seconds for reserve honors.

Before going on to win the €30,750 Grand Prix of Oliva Nova CSI 2* two days later, Constant van Paesschen (BEL) Diaz du Thot (Ready Boy des Forets ‘Hn’ x Diams du Grasset) showed signs of brilliance, conquering third place in the challenge with a mark just six-hundredths of a second slower than the latter two.
