Super Max Kuhner Supreme in the $200,000 Longines Grand Prix of Basel CSI 5*-W

Basel, Switzerland – January 13, 2023 โ€“ The second night of the Longines CHI Classics Basel CSI 5*-W already featured a major attraction and the CHF $200,000 Longines Grand Prix of Basel CSI 5*-W did not disappoint atendees and spectators watching it online. In the end, Max Kรผhner (AUT) triumphed aboard Eic Cooley Jump the Q.

The 1.60m jump-off challenge featured 45 combinations, many of them having already five-star grand prix victories accredited to their names. After the first round, fourteen pairs managed to advance to what promised to be a thrilling tiebreaker.

Kรผhner (AUT) and the 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding (Pacino x Obos Quality) laid down the gauntlet, not only leaving all the poles up for their second flawless performance but also registering the winning mark in 31.81 seconds.

Winners of the โ‚ฌ1,500,000 Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen CSI 5* last July, Gerrit Nieberg (GER) and Ben came close to adding another major jewel to their collection of achievement, falling just short by 34 hundredths of a second.

The level of the class was enhanced by another podium finish from a five-star duo. With two grand prix victories competing in the 2022 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) Christian Ahlmann (GER) and and the stunning stallion Dominator 2000 Z did not disappoint, also posting two clean performances, the decisive one in 32.27 seconds.
