
Basel, Switzerland – January 12, 2023 – Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) and Texas powered to the top of the podium in the $60,000 Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois CSI 5*-W on Thursday during the opening day of the 2023 Longines CHI Classics – Basel CSI 5*-W.
The 2022 French Pro-Elite Champions were at their very best once again, nipping the best ranked rider in the world, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Iliana. Leprevost and the 12-year-old bay Swedish Wamblood gelding (Tornesch x Robin Z) triumphed in 56.03 seconds while von Eckermann (SWE) and Dufour Stables’ 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare ( Cardento x Gentleman) finished right behing in second place, being clocked in 56.40 seconds.
The host nation managed to sneak onto the podium as Romain Duguet (SUI) posted the third-fastest clean performance of the 1.50m speed challenge, tripping the timers in 57.08 seconds.
