
Rouen, France – November 27, 2022 – Stefan Eder (AUT) overcame all the obstacles and several top French riders who were considered favorites to win the €118,125 Grand Prix of the Normandie Region CSI 4* to conclude a great week of top sport during the 2022 edition of EquiSeine CSI 4* & CSI 2*.
A total of 50 combinations entered the ring for the feature class of the week at the event, run under a jump-off format and featuring 1.55m obstacles. Two combinations managed to leave all the poles up and complete their first round performances within the time allowed, thus advancing to the tiebreaker. In the end, it was the Austrian who prevailed, teaming up with Condaro, a 2009 dark Oldenburg gelding (Contendro I x Lifestyle), for the win in 39.22 seconds.
Valentin Besnard (FRA) Dynastie de Beaufour (Diamant de Semilly x Cassini I) were right on the heels of the eventual winners, finishing second only two-hundredths of a second behind, timed in 39.24 seconds during the tiebreaker.
An Olympic champion herself, the current French champion, Pénélope Leprévost (FRA) completed the podium with Bingo del Tondou (Vigo D’Arsouilles Stx x Querlybet Hero), doing so in 39.67 seconds.
