
Madrid, Spain – November 25, 2022 – The third international Jumping competition of this opening day of IFEMA Madrid Horse Week CSI 5*-W was the €25,750 ¡Hola! Trophy CSI 5*-W. Scoring for the World Cup, this was a CSI 5* competition with fences set at the height fo 1.45 metres. The €25,750 ¡Hola! Trophy CSI 5*-W was contested by 52 combinations, 25 of which finished with a clear round, although five of them were penalised for exceeding the allowed time.
During a good stretch of the event, the provisional classification was led by Julien Epaillard (FRA), the French rider who holds the record for international victories achieved in one season and who last year won all the major CSI 5* events at IFEMA. It seemed that this rider from Haras La Bosquetterie was going to maintain the same victorious trend in this €25,750 ¡Hola! Trophy CSI 5*-W until he was overtaken by an Italian rider, Emanuele Gaudiano (FRA).
Epaillard (FRA) and Donatello D’Auge (Jarnac x Hello Pierville), had completed their course in 49.43 seconds, whereas the Italian rider managed to stop the clock at 48’90, which put him in first place with his horse Nikolaj de Music (Kannan x Nabab de Reve).
Third place was awarded to the Israeli Robin Muhr (ISR) with Baccarat Meniljean (Diamant de Semilly x Dollar du Murier), completing their flawless performance in 49.86 seconds..
