Jeroen Appelen Aces the Course to Win the €100,000 Grand Prix of VillaMoura CSIO 3*

Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – November 18, 2022 – Jeroen Appelen (BEL) jumped to victory in the €100,000 Grand Prix CSIO 3* last Friday during the sixth and final week of the 2022 VillaMoura Champions Tour at the VillaMoura Equestrian Centre

The Belgian teamed up with Moningo d’Van’T Heyveld, a 2012 bay Belgian Warmblood gelding (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Brownboy), mastering the jump-off course in 37.81 seconds.

Luisa Himmelreich (GER) and Clenur (Carinue x Fernando) registered the only double clear of the 1.50m challenge, conquering second place in 42.70 seconds.

Certainly, the star of the week at the event, Mckayla Langmeier (USA) was bold aboard Mimosa Vd Rollebeek (Castelino van de Helle x Toulon). She produced the fastest performance in the tiebreaker, but her time of 34.66 seconds came at the expense of one pole down and four penalty-points, meaning that she had to settle for bronze honors.
