
Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – November 17, 2022 – Youth prevailed over experience as McKayla Langmeier (USA) overcame much more experieced riders on Thursday at the VillaMoura Champions Tour CSIO 3*, teaming up with Chadina for the win in the feature class of the day, the €25,700 Speed Challenge CSIO 3*.

The 22-year-old American rider and Rafferty Farm’s 2013 bay Oldenburg mare (Conthargos x Narew) were supreme in the speed challenge against 86 other combinations, overcoming all the 1.45m obstacles in flawless manner before crossing the finish line in 60.87 seconds.
After winning the €26,050 Speed Challenge CSI 3* less than one week before at the same venue, Pedro Veniss (BRA) and Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Jr. (Böckmann’s Lord Pezi x Quattro 7) came close to scoring their second important victory in as many weeks. The duo also left all the poles up for no penalties, securing the second spot with a time of 62.43 seconds.
Another frequent winner at the cozy equestrian center, Victor Bettendorf (LUX) completed the podium by guiding Simolo de La Roque towards a fault-free performance (Spartacus TN x Casall) in 64.12 seconds.
