Monterrey, Mexico – November 11, 2022 – Alberto Michan (ISR) and Bugatti have not been partnered long, but they haven’t needed much time to find their stride together. The duo has earned a top-10 finish at every Major League Show Jumping (MLSJ) location they have competed at this season.
Their latest record includes a win in San Miguel de Allende and again on Friday in the MXN $599,400 Afflux CSI 5* 1.45m at Club Hípico La Silla.
Bugatti, a 16-year-old Royal Dutch Sport Horse & Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) gelding (Heartbreaker x Pilot), owned by Eduardo Leon, was one of only two horses to post a sub 70-second time.
Their speed bested Mexico’s Alberto Sanchez-Cozar (MEX) riding Union de La Nutria, who finished as the runner up.
Third-place went to Erynn Ballard (CAN) and Narcotique v/h Dingenshof.
“He loves winning. He’s a horse that enjoys coming in the ring and trying. I think that’s what makes him special. He enjoys his job and he loves to be a winner. This show has so much history and so many of the best riders in the world have been on these grounds. You cannot top this facility, and it’s breathtaking to come here. I think that inspires us riders to be motivated to do well.” –Alberto Michan (ISR)
