
Monterrey, Mexico – November 04, 2022 – As the fifth-ranked rider in the world, for the past few months Conor Swail (IRL) usually records at least a win at major FEI-level competitions. On Friday, the Irishman teamed up with Gamble for the win in the MXN $100,000 Banorte Speed Challenge CSI 5* to close the day at the Major League Show Jumping / Concurso de Salto La Silla at Club Hípico La Silla.
Riding the 11-year-old bay Royal Dutch Sport Horse / Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) gelding (Vingino x Indoctro), Swail soared over all the 1.45m obstacles in flawless fashion before blazing across the finish line in 61.42 seconds.
Mimi Gochman (USA) and Cosmos (Chellano Alpha Z x Artos Z) were also clean despite being over four seconds slower than the eventual winners, still being able to secure a second-place finish in 66.67 seconds.
Erynn Ballard (CAN) and Gakhir (Spartacus x Indorado) conquered bronze honors for Canada, doing so after a penalty-free performance in 66.94 seconds.
