Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – October 29, 2022 – Mimi Gochman (USA) and Celina BH rose to the occasion and flew around to victory in the €25,900 Yeguada Cartuja Trophy CSIO 3* on Saturday at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour CSIO 3*.
The 1.50m two-phase class had almost 60 entries class, serving as a qualifier for the Grand Prix tomorrow. Quite early on in the class, home based rider Armando Trapote Mariscal (ESP), the current Spanish Absolute Champion, took the lead on the amazing speed jumper, Tornado VS (Toulon x Contender), who is an 11-year-old gelding. His round looked like it was going to be very hard to beat as he stopped the clock in 29.87s, but in the end this talented pair had to make do with third place.
Our winner was Mimi Gochman (USA) who really stepped up her game today with the lovely 12-year-old bay Holsteiner mare (Canstakko x Carthago Z), owned by Gochman Sport Horses, taking the lead for good after stopping the timers in 27.89 seconds, the only pair to finish clear in under 28 seconds.
