Julien Gonin & Valou du Lys Show their Value Winning the €200,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 5*

Grimaud, France – September 25, 2022 – Julien Gonin (FRA) had his dream come true on Sunday during the second week of the Hubside Jumping’s Fall Tour at Haras des Grillons, teaming up with Valou du Lys for victory in the €200,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 5*.

Ten out of the forty-three combinations who took part in the first round of the 1.60m challenge managed to advance to the jump-off. However, only four of them left all the poles up for no penalties in the tiebreaker. Gonin was fastest one aboard the 2009 bay Selle Français mare (Calvaro F.C. x Galoubet A), earning top honors in 40.45 seconds.

Billy Twomey (IRL) guided Chat Botte ED (Casall x Darco) towards the second-best mark in the decisive round, securing silver honors after crossing the finish line in 41.68 seconds.

The host nation was back on the podium with Edward Levy (FRA), rode Uno de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly x Siego) in flawless fashion throughout their two performances, rounding out the top three due to their final time of 43.20 seconds.
