Roger-Yves Bost & Urane Accelerate to Win €25,500 Celside Special Two-Phase CSI 5*

Grimaud, France – September 22, 2022 – Cocorico! The host nation was back on top of the podium on Friday at the Hubside Jumping CSI 5*. The €25,500 Celside Special Two-Phase Challenge CSI 5* was won by the Hubside rider, the 2016 Olympic champion, Roger-Yves Bost (FRA who teamed up with Urane in the 1.50m contest.

Bosty showed both power and speed with the 2008 chestnut Selle Français mare (Miami de Semilly x Drakkar des Hutins) throughout both sections of the course, accelerating flawlessly towards victory in phase two, completing it in 45.39 seconds for top honors.

He managed to snatch away the victory from his teammate in Rio, Pénélope Leprevost (FRA). She was second with Vérité Une Prince (Number One d’Iso x Rosire), the only difference being their final time of 46.01 seconds.

Known as one of the fastest riders in the world circuit, David Will (GER) finished third on the youngest horse amongst the top three, Zaccorado Blue. Despite the inexperience compared to the other previous two horses, the 2013 bay Holsteiner stallion (VDL Zirocco Blue x Acorado) secured a respectable third-place finish, doing so after a clean performance all the way to the wire and tripping the final timers in 46.97 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Roger-Yves Bost (FRA)

“It feels good to win a 150cm event. It was a great event in two phases. The second phase, which is always a little more difficult, was longer. It was not a easy event, there were some faults, but we had a great time and the horses continue to progress in superb conditions. Urane is in good shape. Already last week, she finished second in a class; with Castleforbes Elie, I also won a class and Ballerine du Vilpion was second in the Grand Prix. So the horses are doing very well at the moment! Tomorrow, Delph de Denat Hdc will take part in the major event, and I will run the Grand Prix with Ballerine.”
