
New York, New York, USA – September 23, 2022 – Eoin McMahon (IRL) and Chacon topped the first CSI 5* class of the week on Friday at the 2022 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) of New York CSI 5* & CSI 2*.

The Irishman and the 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Chacco-Blue x Aventyno), owned by Madeleine Winter-Schulze sped to the win in 25.84 seconds in the €25,600 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 5*.
“There were some spooky fences on the course today, but my horse handled it very well,” said McMahon. “It’s a big week for my team, the Berlin Eagles, so to get this win today really starts us off on the right foot.”
Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and Cous Cous, a 10-year-old Holsteiner stallion (Cachas x Lasino) owned by Sipe Handels Ag, took up the second spot in 26.48 seconds, while fellow Irishman Shane Breen (IRL) was third with Haya, his and Old Lodge’s 10-year-old Royal Dutch Sport Horse / Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) mare (Mylord Cathargo x For Pleasure), close behind in 26.65 seconds.
