Bryan Balsiger at his very Best to Win the €100,000 Grand Prix Longines of Ascona CSI 4*

Ascona, Switzerland – September 11, 2022 – Bryan Balsiger (SUI) was at his very best on Sunday at the Longines CSI Ascona CSI 4*. The Swiss teamed up with Dubai du Bois Pinchet, powering their way to victory in the €100,000 Grand Prix Longines of Ascona CSI 4*.

Thirty-four combinations entered the ring for the feature class of the week, facing 13 obstacles and 15 efforts set at the maximum height of 1.55 meters, all set on the course designed by Christian Wiegand (GER). In the end of the first round, 12 combinations had qualified for the jump-off.

Balsiger and the 13-year-old ba Belgian Sport Horse mare (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Andiamo) bested the competition by being quick across the ground and flying in flawless fashion over all the obstacles before crossing the finish line in 45.22 seconds.

Francesco Correddu (ITA) and Necofix (Eco del Castegno x Avenir) gave the eventual winners a run for their money, finishing just shy of six-tenths of a second off the winning mark, being time in 45.85 seconds during the tiebreaker.

Three different nations were represented on the podium as Gudrun Patteet (BEL) and Sea Coast Donna Z (Diamant de Semilly / C Indoctro ) also registered two penalty-free performances, securing bronze honors in 47.33 seconds.
