Aaron Vale & I. Ardemie R 4 Top $30,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Welcome Prix at WEC Ocala

Ocala, Florida, USA – August 09, 2022 – National show jumping competition continued early this morning at World Equestrian Center – Ocala with the $30,000 C. Jarvis Insurance Welcome Prix. FEI Level II course designer, Doug Russell (USA) crafted the intricate track for 49 starters, but none could best Aaron Vale (USA) and Lori Osterstock’s I. Adermie R 4.

Sixteen horse-and-rider combinations found the key to a clean first round and seven managed to keep all rails up in the jump-off.

Hector Florentino (DOM) & Meadowvale Cruise

Third place finisher, Hector Florentino (DOM) and Wyndmont Inc.’s Meadowvale Cruise (S. Creevagh Ferro Ex Siebe x Tullibard’s Pretty Young Think) found a very fast jump-off track early in the class. Florentino and the 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse flew around the short course in 35.914 seconds to ultimately claim the third place spot.

Todd Minikus (USA) & Amex Z

Todd Minikus (USA) and Bit By Bit Group’s 13-year-old Zangershiede mare Amex Z (Andiamo Z x Senne) followed, navigating the jump-off track in 34.990 seconds. Victory seemed to be sealed with Minikus and Amex Z’s fast time, until Aaron Vale entered the arena with I. Adermie R 4 (Den Ham Blue R x W.Adermie 1).

Vale spoke about today’s track, “The course wasn’t as big as they have been, but it wasn’t easy. There were plenty of jumps and the time allowed was tight enough to keep you honest. It was different to have a triple combination right next to the hotel. It was a good experience for the horses.”

Aaron Vale (USA) & I. Ardemie R4

Vale and the speedy nine-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare advanced straight to the jump-off, “I noticed a lot of riders were having trouble after the first line, turning back to the third jump in the jump-off. My plan was to be efficient there and I ended up being three strides faster in that turn alone,” Vale said. “I didn’t want to get greedy and leave a stride out somewhere else after that tight turn, so I chose to just stay patient.”

The pair galloped through the timers to stop the jump-off clock at 33.375 seconds, which was uncatchable.
