Kronenberg, The Netherlands – July 23, 2022 – The British flag stood tall, higher than the rest last Sunday as Joe Whitaker (GBR) and Hulalupe JR rode to victory in the €26,400 Parkhotel Horst Prix CSI 2* in the Milestone Farm Arena at the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre.
A total of 72 combinations challenged the first-round course designed by Peter Schumacher (GER), with obstacles set at the height of 1.45m. Twelve pairs managed to clear all the obstacles and complete the course within the time allowed of 80 seconds.
Despite being the trailblazers, Pedro Veniss (BRA) and Boeckmanns Lord Pezi Junior (Böckmann’S Lord Pezi x Quattro 7) showed the way to the rest of the field, going clean in 39.52 seconds, a mark that would eventually earn them bronze honors.
Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) and Chaka Chaka 3 (Casall x Contender) took over first place with a time of 39.31 seconds, however they would be nipped at the wire by the eventual winners.
