Kronenberg, The Netherlands – July 22, 2022 – The first major competition of the weekend took place hosted in the Milestone Farm arena of the Peelbergen Equestrian Centre and it was Manon Hees (NED) and Kamiel van het Langwater who came out on top in the €26,300 Van Mossel Automotive Groep CSI 2*,
The jump-off challenge featured 80 rider-and-horse combinations attempting to overcome all the 1.45m obstacles on a course designed by Peter Schumacher, with 12 of them managing to produce clean rounds, all looking to stamp their passport for Saturday’s Grand Prix CSI 2*.
Charles Berron (FRA) and Jasper (Falaize de Muze x Lux) were the first ones to register a significant mark, completing their flawless round in 47.55 seconds for the temporary lead. However, they would be surpassed by one combination.
Hees (NED) rode into the ring aboard the 2010 chestnut Belgian Warmblood stallion (Wiensender x Beaujolais) knowing what to do. The Dutch rider and the stallion were lightning quick, stopping the timers in 44.30 seconds while still being clean, over three seconds faster then Charles, claming a great win before the home crowd!
Loewie Joppen (NED) and Osiris F Z ( Dallas x Acodetto) rounded out the top three with no penalties too, being timed in 47.80 seconds at the end of their second performance.
