
Valkenswaard, Netherlands – July 09, 2022 – The second-day action of the first summer event at Tops International Arena once again offered great sport, beautiful weather and varied podiums with a mix of nationalities at the prize-giving ceremonies including familiar and new faces.
The biggest win of the day went to local Dutch rider Mel Thijssen (NED) after a rapid round on Florida Balia NL. The Dutch rider and the super fast 12-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood mare (Bustique x Lux Z) sped with ease towards a penalty-free round over the 1.50m obstacles set on the huge grass arena, claiming the lion’s share of the €51,300 Speed Challenge CSI 4*.
The duo were just ahead of Abdel Said (BEL) and Goldenstar (Bacardi VDL x Isylon B), who completed their clean round in 61.35 seconds.
The third was claimed by France’s Philippe Leoni (FRA) and the talented bay mare Miss Marie van’t Winnenhof (Edjaz Van’T Merelsnest x Toulon) completed the podium in 64.55 seconds.
