Knokke-Heist, Belgium – July 08, 2022 – Charlotte Bettendorf (BEL) and Babacool continued their winning ways competing in FEI-level classes, this time securing the win in the €25,900 Marie Chocolate Couture Speed Challenge CSI 2* on Friday at Knokke Hippique.
Going up against 14 out of the 18 combinations that took part in the jump-off, Bettendorf bested the rest of the field by guiding the 2011 bay Selle Français mare (Tlaloc M x Urbain du Monnai) flawlessly in the decisive phase, doing so in 33.99 seconds.
The host nation came close to registering another win as Dominique Hendrickx (BEL) and Dubai de Riverland (Qlassic Bois Margot x Jaguar Mail) rode towards a second-place finish, matching the clean jump-off effort of the previous two but in 34.08 seconds.
Jeroen Appelen (BEL) and Moningo – D van’t Heyveld ( Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Brownboy) also left all the poles up for no penalties at the end of their second performance, rounding out the top three in 35.92 seconds.
