
Wolvertem, Meise, Belgium – July 03, 2022 – The second week of Knokke Hippique came to an end on Sunday and it was Bertram Allen (IRL) and Empoli de Champloue who stole the show in the €25,300 Grand Prix of Knokke Hippique CSI 2*.
A total of 71 combinations entered the ring to face the 1.45m obstacles in the first round of the contest but only 14 of them managed to advance to the jump-off. In the end, it was the speedy Irishman who prevailed aboard the 2014 chestnut Selle Français gelding (Arko x Diamant de Semilly), doing so in 34.58 seconds
Julie Welles (USA) & Greatfull (Congress 4 x Peking) put on a valiant effort, only finishing second due to their time of 35.50 seconds.
Felix Hassmann (GER) & Quiwitino WZ registered the third-quickest penalty-free performance in the tiebreaker, securing bronze honors in 35.69 seconds.
