Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta, Canada – June 30, 2022 – The $37,500 Friends of the Meadows 1.55M competition on the International Ring welcomed 26 competitors through the Spruce Meadows Clock Tower for the first day of competition of this Pan-American CSI 5* tournament. Canadian FEI Course Designer Peter Grant set the track to test the competitors and it was Eduardo Menezes (BRA) riding his 10-year-old stallion H Big Action (Action Breaker x Big Star) who passed with flying colours. The pair soared over the final fence clear covering the 500 metre course with a time of 67.88 seconds, tat was untouchable.

Paul O’Shea (IRL) and Squirt Gun (Diarado x Quick Star) were less than two-tenths behind the eventual winners, finishing second in 68.06 seconds.

Canadian spectators were delighted to see one of their own as Mario Deslauries (CAN) and Bardolina 2 (Clarimo x Landos) earned bronze honors in 70.10 seconds.
