Milan, Italy – June 26, 2022 – Martin Fuchs (SUI) honored his position as number one in the FEI world ranking in the best possible way. At the San Siro Racecourse show he rode The Sinner to win the €100,000 Frecciarossa Grand Prix CSI 4* – Graziano Mancinelli Trophy (two rounds – h 1.55m), which was the final and most exciting class in the 2022 Frecciarossa Milano Jumping Cup CSI 4*.

The 29-year-old Swiss rider posted a double clear round completing an exciting second round in which riding The Sinner he stopped the clock at an amazing 37”90 beating by 1”55 his American fiancée Paris Sellon (USA) riding Remix (Quidam de Revel x Come On). Fuchs had to hold his breath right to the very last fence or at least until his compatriot Steve Guerdat made a fatal mistake that relegated him to seventh place.
It was a decidedly challenging Grand Prix with only six clear rounds in the first round over a course built by Uliano Vezzani (ITA) and with three others collecting time penalties.
Italy’s 30-year-old Giacomo Bassi (ITA) riding Find Touch GR rode a second clear round finishing an excellent third, while his fiancée Valentina Isoardi riding Favina , who had also qualified for the jump off, finished ninth.

Before the prizegiving ceremony both Fuchs and Paris Sellon kissed passionately. Martin very honestly admitted that, “I would have preferred it if she had won, but that’s life… We are over the moon because although it has happened on other occasions that we both were battling to win in a decisive round or a jump-off, this was the first time we finished first and second. That was a really wonderful ending to a weekend that has been extremely satisfactory for me and for Switzerland.”

Fuchs, who received the award from Pietro Diamantini (Director of Business AV for Trenitalia) and Fabio Schiavolin, AD Snaitech, was alsocpresented with the Graziano Mancinelli Trophy by Marco Mancinelli and Fabio Schiavoli (AD Snaitech): “I am really moved and very touched”, said the son of the unforgettable Italian champion. “This acknowledgment in memory of my father was created last year and this time is especially important as he died exactly thirty years ago. This is all extraordinarily beautiful and I wish to thank the Milano Jumping Cup Organising Committee with gratitude”
