Hessel Hoekstra & Famariloma Fly the Highest in Dura Vermeer Prize CSIO 5* at Rotterdam

Rotterdam, The Netherlands – June 23, 2022 – The 2022 edition of the CHIO Rotterdam began on Thursday and the opening FEI-level class was claimed by Hessel Hoekstra (NED) and Famariloma, winners of the Dura Vermeer Prize CSIO 5*.

Fifty-eight of the 79 starting combinations managed to ride a clear round in the 1.45 meter competition in two phases, which was thrilling right up until the last start. Halfway through the event, Hoekstra and his twelve-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood mare (Azteca VDL x Ahorn) set a razor sharp time of 26.98 seconds, taking the lead.

Jos Verlooy (BEL) and FTS Killossery Konfusion (SIEC Livello x Cruising) came ever so close with a time of 27,01 seconds, but had to settle for second place.

Jack Ansems (NED) and Fliere Fluiter (VDL Zirocco Blue x Animo) conquered the third place on the podium, going clear all the way to the wire registering a time of 27.63 seconds in the second section of the course..
