Stockholm, Sweden – June 19, 2022 – Derin Demirsoy (TUR) and Elzas dashed for the cash in the €51,300 Equestrian Stockholm Prize CSI 5* at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday during the final day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Stockholm CSI 5*.
The Turkish rider overcame thirty-one other combinations in the speed challenge, guiding the 13-year-old bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (Diamant de Semilly x Cornet Obolensky) flawlessly over all the 1.50m obstacles before crossing the finish line in 59.92 seconds.
After three wins earlier at the same event, one of them being with the same mount, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE), the most successful rider in the sport over the weekend, did not disappoint once again. He rode Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) towards silver honors, being nipped by only four-hundredths of a second (59.96) by the eventual winners.
Three different nations were represented on the podium. Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Shelby (Stolzenberg x For Pleasure) completed the podium, registering no penalties in 60.40 seconds.
