Barbara Schnieper & Judy KM Claim $30,000 Les Trois Rois Swiss Cup Final at St. Gallen

June 05, 2022 – With Barbara Schnieper (SUI), for the first time a female rider won the Swiss Cup Final at the 43rd edition, which was held at the Longines CSIO St. Gallen. The second place was claimed by Steve Guerdat (SUI) while the third spot on the podium was conquered by Elian Baumann (SUI).

Six pairs remained clear in the first round over twelve obstacles. Not among them was Pius Schwizer (SUI), who is the record holder with seven titles. He was caught at the final jump.

The break before the second round lasted longer than planned because a thunderstorm broke out over the Gründenmoos.

The first double zero was achieved by Elian Baumann (SUI) with Clintfino but the rider from Bern was too conservative, stopping the timers in 56,60 seconds, which would be good enough for bronze honors.

Steve Guerdat (SUI) turned up the heat aboard Double Jeu d’Honvault (Kannan x Cook du Midour), being more than seven seconds faster with 49.40 seconds.

Last to start was Barbara Schnieper (SUI) with her twelve-year-old CH mare Judy KM . She attacked aboard the 12-year-old bay Swiss Sport Horse mare (Joly St. Hubert x Saphir von der Rossi) blazing across the finish line in only 46.67 seconds to won thunderous applause by her countrymen present there.
