Saint Tropez, France – May 22, 2025 – Déjà vu! Just like in 2019 in St Tropez, Pieter Devos (BEL) has taken over the lead of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) Championship standings. The Belgian rider has been confirmed to compete at the sixth leg of the tour at Hamburg this week, where he looks to add more to his score 110 points overall.
One of the pleasant surprises so far this year and despite being a young rider amongst veterans of the sport and all-time greats, Gilles Thomas (BEL) is currently in second place with a season total of 101 points. After winning two out of the first three initial legs of the coveted tour and leading the race until last weekend, Ludger Beerbaum (GER) has dropped to third place, having the same amount of points (99) as his protegé Christian Kukuk (GER). The master and his student are on home soil this week trying to feed off the energy from the crowd as they battle it out.
