Grimaud, France – April 29, 2022 – Olivier Perreau (FRA) and GL Events Dolce Deceuninck were back in the winner’s circle at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud on Friday, claiming the jackpot of the €25,500 Hotel Kube CSI 5*.
No strangers to victory, the Frenchman and the 2009 bay Belgian Sport Horse mare (Toulon x Cartier van de Heffinck) had already triumphed in the €25,500 Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 5*. This time the duo overcame 47 other combinations in the special two-phase challenge, turning on the afterburner to complete the second part of the 1.50m challenge in 38.28 seconds.
Belgium secured the next two top spots on the podium. Wilm Vermeir (BEL) rode Hotshot (Carembar de Muze x Calido I) across the finish line in 38.67 seconds, which turned out to be good enough for silver honors.
Jérôme Guery (BEL) and Great Britain V (Nabab de Reve x Carolus II) had the third fastest fault-free performance in phase two, completing the podium in 38.80 seconds.
Winner’s Circle – Olivier Perreau (ITA)
“I think I saved time by turning very short before the eighth obstacle. Dolce jumped very well today and I’m satisfied. Tomorrow she will take part in the 1.45m. For the Grand Prix on Sunday , I still hesitate between GL Events Venizia d’Aiguilly and GL Events Dorai d’Aiguilly, but it should normally be Venizia.”
