Edouard Schmitz & Balenciana K are the Best in €30,000 CWD Speed Challenge CSI 4* at Fontainebleau

Fontainebleau, France – April 23, 2022 – The Swiss flag flew high above all others on Saturday at Le Grand Parquet as Edouard Schmitz (SUI) guided Balenciana K to victory in the €30,000 CWP Speed Challenge CSI 4* during Le Printemps des Sports Équestres at the majestic venue in Fontainebleau.

Riding the 2009 Hanoverian chestnut mare (Balou du Rouet x Grosso Z), Schmitz overcame 52 other combinations in the1.45m challenge by clearing all the obstacles before crossing the finish line in blazing speed, being timed at 40.70 seconds.

Romain Duguet (SUI) and Bel Canto de Boguin (Grenat De Grez HN) were not too far off the pace, setting the second fastest penalty-free performance in 42.30 seconds.

Margaux Rocuet (FRA) and Dubai du Cedre (Baloubet du Rouet x Diamant de Semilly) rounded out the top three just twelve-hundredths of a second slower than the latter two.
