Linz, Austria – April 17, 2022 – Matin Fuchs was back in the winner’s circle last Sunday shortly after being crowned the champion of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Final. Fuchs has been a man on a mission lateley, and the Swiss rode to another major victory, this time aboard Commissar Pezi in the €56,000 Grand Prix of the City of Linz CSI 3, presented by Sprehe Feinkost, the feature class of the Linzer Pferdefestival CSI 3*.
A total of 37 combinations entered the ring to face Peter Schumacher‘s first round course but only two of them advanced to the jump-off. Fuchs flew to first by registering a penalty-free effort in 40.66 seconds aboard the the 9-year-old dark bay Hannoverian gelding (Commissario x Böckmann’S Lord).
In fact, it was an unusual win since the only other finalists, Maksymilian Wechta (POL) and Cheppetano (Chepetto) withdrew from taking part in the tiebreaker, handing the triumphant to Fuchs.
The level of difficulty of the first round course took a toll on the competitions. Despite having a pole down in the first round Jörne Sprehe (GER) and Hot Easy(Andiamo x Changelo) were able to secure bronze honors due to their time of 83,37 seconds.
