Grimaud, France – April 14, 2022 – Olivier Perreau (FRA) and GL Events Dolce Deceuninck were the first winners of a five-star class this year at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud. The duo were victorious in the €25,500 Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 5* on Thursday during the second week of the Spring Tour at the renowned showjumping venue.
A total of 64 combinations entered the ring there for the speed challenge, some of the them among the best in the world. Perreau was powered across the finish line in 62.93 seconds, doing so after clearing all the obstacles for no penalties.
Pénélope Leprévost (FRA) and Djagger Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d’Adriers) also pranced and danced their way around the track all the way to the wire without having any penalties attributed to them, having to settle for settle second place due to their time of 63.65 seconds.
Kevin Jochems (NED) and Cornetboy (Cornet’s Stern x Colander) completed the podium, doing so after a penalty-free performance in 64.27 seconds.

“GL Events Dolce Deceuninck was fantastic, I am delighted with this victory. She is the ideal mare for the speed events. To tell the truth, I did not follow the event very much. I had two horses entered, Dolce and GL Events Venizia d’Aiguilly, who jumped at the start of the contest. I went with my gut feeling (laughs). With Venizia, I considered this round as schooling, in regards to preparing for Sunday’s Grand Prix. “
