Kronenberg, Peelbergen, The Netherlands – March 31, 2022 – Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) was the Master of the Day on Thursday at the Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen, claiming top honors in the €25,500 Stal Hendrix Qualifier CSI 2*.
The Dutchman and the 2012 bay Anglo-European Sport Horse (AES) mare ( Eldorado Vd Zeshoek x Quick Star) triumphed in the 1.45m jump-off challenge after completing their second penalty-free performance in blazing speed, doing so in 42.57 seconds.
Marc Houtzager (NED) and Holy Moley (Verdi TN x Warrant) were over two second slower. However, their clean effort in 44.81 seconds was more than enough for a second-place finish.
The host nation dominated the podium as Loewie Joppen (NED) and Important Style VK (Falaise de Muze x Calvino Z) rode towards bronze honors, backed by a fault-free jump-offf effort in 45.19 seconds.
