Martin Fuchs & The Sinner Master the Course towards the Win in €25,500 Prix Hermès Sellier CSI 5*

Paris, France – March 18, 2022 – The atmosphere was electric for today’s high point: the €25,500 Prix Hermès Sellier CSI 5*, the accumulator competition with jumps measuring 1m50. The spectators were able to witness a really showstopping performance with 22 clear rounds out of the 53 competing horse and rider pairings. Despite some serious contenders for victory, Swiss rider Martin Fuchs (SUI) took the win as the only competitor to go clear in a sub-57-second time (56’’94).

The recent European team champion and world No.3 was partnered with The Sinner, a 14-year-old gelding. “It was a bit of a tricky course with some very tight bends. When walking the course, I didn’t think there would be so many riders taking all the options. However, wearing No.28, I was able to see the rounds posted by several riders before me and I knew that I’d have to take the bends as tight as possible to win it, he smiles! My horse Sinner was fabulous today. I’m delighted to take the win here at the Saut Hermès. I love this competition! For the rest of the weekend? I’m going to continue to try my best and go clear, but it’s great to have started off the weekend with a victory. We’ll have to wait and see what happens next!”

Sanne Thijssen (NED) & Con Quidam RB

At just 23 years of age, Dutch rider Sanne Thijssen (NED) made it onto the second step of the podium riding her trusty Con Quidam RB, with which she won the World Cup final in the team competition in Barcelona in September. She went clear in 57’’83, less than a second ahead of crowd favorite pair.

Simon Delestre (FRA) & Hermes Ryan

Simon Delestre (FRA) and Hermès Ryan, the double reigning champion of the Grand Prix Hermès proved this evening that the dynamic duo is in tip-top condition to defend their title on Sunday. They scored a perfect round in 58’’54 to round out the top three.
The Prix Hermès Sellier served as the qualifier for the main event on Saturday 19 March at 15:00 hrs: the Saut Hermès, in which a draw will decide on the 10 competing mixed couples made up of the 10 best women and the 10 best men from the Prix Hermès Sellier.
