
Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – February 13, 2022 – The third week of the 2022 VillaMoura Atlantic Tour came to an end in grand fashion on Sunday at the VillaMoura Equestrian Centre and it was a former number-one ranked rider in the world who stole the spotlight. Kevin Staut (FRA) teamed up with Cheppetta for the win in the €51,300 Turismo Portugal Algarve Grand Prix CSI 3*.

A total of 40 combinations entered the Francisco Moura Arena for the first round of the 1.50m contest but only six of them advanced to the jump-off. Staut was masterfual once again in the tiebreaker, guiding the 2008 bay Holsteiner mare (Chepetto x Cash) easily over all the obstacles before blazing across the finish line in 38.10 seconds for the win.
Andreas Schou (DEN) and Darc de Lux (Darco x Contender) also shone under the spotlight, completing their two performances without having any penalties attributed to them, being timed at 39.20 seconds for the second spot on the podium.
The third spot on the podium was conquered by another famous rider, this time being represented by François Mathy Jr. (BEL). The great Belgian rider also had two clean performances all the way to the wire, earning bronze honors in 41.60 seconds.
