
Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – January 30, 2022 – Titouan Schumacher (FRA) and Atome Z were the aces of the week by claiming top honors in the €51,300 Grand Prix CSI 3* on Sunday during the first week of the VillaMoura Atlantic Tour at the VillaMoura Equestrian Centre.
The Frenchman overcame 28 other combinations who took part in the 1.45m challenge with four of them advancing to the jump-off. He guided 2007 bay Selle Français gelding (Amadeus Z*Brimbelles x Toulon) flawlessly over all the obstacles while still managing to register the fastest penalty-free effort in the tiebreaker, securing the win in 41.53 seconds.
Once again, Great Britain was represented on the podium. Jackson Reed-Stephenson (GBR) rode Exception (Vagabond de La Pomme x Dirka) towards silver honors, registering two clean performances and a final time of 42.75 seconds.
France was back on the podium as Jerôme Hurel (FRA) and Byron du Telman (Lamm de Fetan x Dollar du Murier) teamed up for bronze honors, completing the only other double clear of the day, being timed at 47.39 seconds.
