Oliva, Spain – January 14, 2022 – Julien Epaillard (FRA) is certainly one of the fastest and winningest riders competing at FEI-level competitions and it was no exception on Friday at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour. The Flying Frenchman teamed up with Solero MS to win the €26,100 Trofeo CHG – Construcciones Hispano Germanas S.A. CSI 2*, that also served as one of the qualifiers for the Grand Prix on Sunday.
Epaillard and the 2006 chestnut Hanoverian gelding (Silvio I x Espri / Richard Mangels) were supreme in the 1.45m two-phase challenge, advancing to and completing the second phase without a single penalty incurred to them, yet still managing to post the fastest final time of 25.97 seconds.
Karel Cox (BEL) and Curiano Van Maarle Z (Canabis Z x Germus R) secured silver honors in 26.52 seconds while Lily Attwood (GBR) and Cor-Leon Vd Vlierbeek Z ( Calvaro F.C. x Omar) rounded out the top three in 27.96 seconds.
